Ender's Game was originaly a short story, but was later adapted into a novel. It is the first book in the series. It is about a boy, Ender Wiggin who is being trained to one day be the commander of the fleet for Earth fighting off the alien enemies, the Formics. The Formics have been twice defeated, but only by sheer luck. Ender is the next to defeat them, although he dosn't know it. I give this book 5 out of 5 stars.

Ender's Shadow is a paralell novel to Ender's Game. It recounts the same story through a different charachter's view. I was skeptical of this at first, but soon grew to like thi book as much as I liked Ender's Game. I give this book five out of five stars.

Speaker for the Dead is very different than Ender's Game/Shadow. Speaker is about the life of Ender Wiggin after he wins the war against the Formics. He travels at near light speed causing strange affects on him. In other words, while he may be traveling a distance of 50 years, to his body it is only 2. So, he travels for 3000 years and is only 40 years of age. He becomes a Speaker for the dead, which is someone who rewrites the tale of the life of someone after they have died. He goes to the planet Lusitania and falls in love, but Lusitania is home to another species, The Piggies. He has to learn to deal interspecies with these piggies, and eventually disovers the deadly disease of Lusitania, the descolada. I give this book 4 out of 5 stars.

After the disease is found the xenobiologists on Lusitana are charged with teaching the Piggies too much rather than letting their species develop naturaly. They are to come to trial before a jury on another planet. Rather than fly there and back to return to see all their loved ones have passed on, the Xenobiologists refuse, and all communications are cut off at Lusitania. As this happens, word of the disease gets out. Despite coming close to finding a cure, a fleet is launched with one intention, to destroy Lusitania. I give it 4 out of 5 stars.

The fleet is drawing near, and time is running out. As Ender and other inhabitants of the planet try to figure out a way to travel instantaneously through space by going "outside" the universe, others try to find a way to cure the descoloada. But there is another problem, the piggies need the descolada to live. So they make a new virus that not only kills the descolada, but replaces it: the rescolada. Meanwhile, Ender and the others find a way to go outside the univers and come back in at any spot. I give this book 5 stars out of 5.
